FluentCommunity

Turn your Fluent Community into an app

Members read and write your Fluent Community posts, react, comment, repost and vote, and join your spaces as native screens. Everything they do follows your community rules and reaches your portal as if it had been done there.

Reads the FluentCommunity you already run. Nothing to migrate.

Free while in beta. No credit card needed.

In the app

What FluentCommunity becomes

Native screens, drawn by the app from your site’s data, that you place on the bottom bar, the top bar or the side drawer.

The feed

Posts from every space a member can see, with images, link previews, topics and polls, and a composer with @mentions and #hashtags. Reposts, suggestion carousels and ads between posts, in the layout and sizes you choose.

Posts and comments

Each post with its comments and replies. React with six emoji and see who reacted, reply with mentions, bookmark, and edit or delete your own; space moderators can moderate anyone’s.

Spaces

Browse your spaces, join a public one or ask to join a private one, and open each space’s feed, members and description. Space admins approve join requests in the app.

Members and profiles

A searchable member directory, and every member’s profile with their posts, spaces and bio, in the same six templates as your other profiles. A Message button opens a chat with them. Private profiles stay private, as on your site.

Your own profile

Members edit their name, headline, bio and links, and crop, reposition or remove their photo and cover in the app. The change shows on your portal straight away.

Notifications and push

Comments, replies, reactions and mentions land in the app’s Notifications screen and bell beside everything else, each opening the post or space it is about, and arrive as push. Your portal’s own bell keeps working.

Courses and lessons

Members enrol in your free courses, watch and read each lesson, mark it complete and move on. Scheduled sections and locked lessons behave as on your site, and progress is shared with it.

Getting started

From your site to your phone

Nothing on your FluentCommunity setup changes, and members sign in with the accounts they already have.

  1. Step 1

    Install the Memberside plugin

On your WordPress site, beside FluentCommunity. It reads your plugins for the app and adds nothing to your pages.
  2. Step 2

    Place the screens

Start from a starting layout or drag FluentCommunity’s screens onto the navigation yourself, and see them in the live preview.
  3. Step 3

    Build and try it

Put the build on your own phone, then ship it from your own Apple and Google accounts.

Questions

FluentCommunity in the app

Yes. A post, comment, like or join made in the app is written to Fluent Community on your site, follows its rules for who may post and its moderation, and notifies members exactly as if it had been made on your portal.

A private space takes a request, which a space admin approves in the app or on your portal. A secret space never appears to anyone outside it, as on your site.

Yes. A post, a space, a member profile, a course and a lesson each have their own appearance and settings in the builder, used wherever they open from.

Yes. Comments, replies, reactions, mentions, reposts and space approvals arrive as push and in the app’s Notifications, grouped so ten reactions on one post are one notification. Each member chooses what reaches them in the app. Your portal keeps its own notifications as before.

Yes, with Better Messages, which works with Fluent Community out of the box: a chat screen, a Message button on every profile, and push for new messages.

Often run alongside

FluentCommunity is a trademark of its owner. Memberside is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to its maker; the name is used only to say which plugin the app reads.
